DIY: Tangled/Rapunzel Hairbrush

1:25 PM

My sweet niece, Steph's daughter, turned four just the other day.  How is it possible for time to speed away so quickly?   I will never ever forget the day she was born.  From the moment she entered this world I knew she was someone special.  She barely even cried, and it was as if she was taking in the world as her big eyes blinked around looking at her surroundings while the doctor and staff took care of her.  She is beautiful, she is kind, she is sweet, she is so good, she makes all she meets feel so important, and best of all she is full of life.  She will always hold a very special place in my heart.  I love her to pieces.

I wanted to give her something she would love for her birthday.  Along with a few things that my son picked out for her I made her a brush.  It's not just any kind of brush!  It's a Rapunzel Brush!  As many girls her age, she loves all things Tangled!

I got my inspiration from a brush I saw at the store.  I felt that it was terribly overpriced, and decided that I could make one even better for the fraction of the price.

This brush was nearly $15.  Super cute huh? I just couldn't bring myself to buy it.  It was darling, but TINY... I just knew I could DIY Diva one up!

For a grand total of $5 I made this:

Here is how I did it:

1.  Mod Podge (or just make your own Mod Podge) a Rapunzel sticker on the back and then Bedazzle the heck out of the brush using hot-glue and jewels.  As easy as that!

My sister has informed me that my niece and she have a nightly routine of brushing each others hair, in hopes that it will become longer.  Successful present giving?!  I think so!

BTW, it is surprisingly and incredibly durable!  Yay for that!
