How To Install Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring in Basement - TIME-LAPSE

2:31 PM

NOT sponsored

It was time to rip out the old carpet in the basement. We decided to go with Vinyl Rigid Core Plank Flooring in the color Playa. This luxury vinyl flooring is water proof which is great for basements in case of flooding. We also set our baseboards up higher a little bit in case of water. Our basement is not prone to flooding, but it has flooded before - once when the water heater broke, and once when our dog chewed a sprinkler and all the water spilled into a window well. Homeownership can sometime be a nightmare, and LIFE HAPPENS.

So if you want to see how we installed our beautiful and functional new vinyl flooring (while keeping our old baseboards), watch the video below! Don't forget to support us by subscribing to our YouTube Channel.

We show you how we removed baseboards and reused them,

how to cut the vinyl plank board to fit it around a closet casing.

We show how we put the trim back on leaving a small gap in case of future water damage.

We finished the "cut edge" with a piece of metal trim,

and then we put the rooms back together.

Prepping To Build A Pergola With Humboldt Redwood

3:14 PM

UPDATE!! Here's a link to the build: http://www.doityourselfdivas.com/2019/05/diy-pergola-featuring-humboldt-redwood.html

Our brother recently bought a new home, and discovered that his deck, which was made of plastic composite, had completely rotted. It was perfect timing when Humboldt Redwood contacted us, and wanted us to build something beautiful with one of nature’s strongest and most durable building materials. Redwood is much lighter in weight than plastic composite and tropical hardwoods, redwood can be easily cut, sawed, and drilled with regular woodworking tools, making it an ideal material for this seasons DIY projects. It is the perfect solution to sprucing up my brother's backyard now that he had to get rid of his old deck. Thank heavens redwood is naturally resistant to insects and decay, and resists warping and splitting. His new pergola will stand the test of time and will leave a breathtaking first impression for years to come.

With the help of Humboldt Redwood, our brother designed this pergola, which will fit perfectly in his backyard.

It’s all about #RedwoodDIY! Whether you’re building a deck or accenting the interior of a home, few products have the warmth, character, durability and comfort of sustainability harvested Humboldt Redwood.

This is the beautiful redwood provided by Humboldt Redwood.

We are excited to get going on this DIY. It is sure to be a beautiful pergola that will make our brother's backyard a place we will all want to be!
