DIY: Painting Solid Wood Furniture White/ How to Distress White Furniture

7:43 PM

Everybody loves a good before and after picture!  Here are a couple for your viewing pleasure.

I used THIS  tutorial, from back in the day, to complete both projects.

I added only one step. Before sealing the paint with the polyurathane, I decided to distress each piece with some 220 grit sandpaper.  Oh, and I decided to go with a semi-gloss rather than a gloss.  I kinda love how they both turned out.  What do you think?

The piece above is in my little girl's bedroom.  I absolutely love the glass knobs that I found on sale at Hobby Lobby!

Above, is a dresser that I refinished/stained over 6 years ago.  It was, in fact, my very first refinishing project ever.  Can you tell?  Yes, yes you can. Thank the heavens for white paint!
