Best Summer Reads 2016

11:14 PM

I am an lover of books.  There is something magical about cracking open a brand new book, and being transported to a different place and time.  I love getting lost in the pages and taking a step away from reality for a bit.  It's something I look forward to nearly every night when the children are finally asleep.

I can hardly wait to share with you the books that I have loved so far this summer.  From novels to inspirational, spiritual to motivational, I have got all the bases covered.

My favorite read as of late has been The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah.  Wow! What an incredible read. I really can't even put into words how I feel about this book. It was so intense, filled with bravery, heroism, and even love. How incredibly eye opening. It is amazing what the human spirit can endure. I will be thinking of this story for a long time.

When you find good books you just have to share them!  I basically just handed this stack of books to Steph, and made her pinky promise to read each and every word of each and every book.

She got started right away!

 Happy reading friends!!

  2. I just came across your list for great summer reads. I also read "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah this summer and I totally agree! This really was an incredible read - I think it's up there with the best I've ever read. I will have to check out some of the others you've recommended.
I'm on my fourth book this summer ... besides The Nightingale, I have read "I Let you Go" by Claire Mackintosh (very good), "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt (good read but a bit long and drawn out), and currently "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr (about halfway through and it is very very good ... takes place during WWI in France - a bit similar to The Nightingale).
Thank you for sharing "your picks" ;-)
