DIY Fairy Garden

8:18 AM

“When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.”

Each year we follow the gardening rule of planting after Mother's Day.  This year, along with the tomatoes, peppers, squash and zucchini, Clara and I decided to make our very own fairy garden.

In the far corner of our garden box, nestled behind the raspberries, the darling garden sits.

We found all of our supplies at Hobby Lobby, the Dollar Store and of coarse the local thrift store.

I made the cute bunting with felt, wooden skewers and tulle.

This little chair was an amazing thrift store find.  While I was in the check out line,  the lady in front of us told me that her grandmother use to make this very furniture, out of non other than beer cans.  Amazing!

This little garden has kept my imaginative four year old busy for hours on end.  When Clara's little neighborhood friends come to visit, our fairy garden is a huge hit.  Here's to childhood dreams, believing,  and letting them be little!

  1. This is absolutely adorable. My kids are grown up but I think they'd love it too. All I need to look for is a large planter to put it all in.
