Two months after having a baby, it was time for our family to finally enjoy summer! Who cares that it's September and the kids are in school already! We decided to stay at Moose Hollow - a luxury townhome up in Ogden Canyon near Pineview Reservoir. These townhomes are beautifully furnished, they have their own theatre rooms, and even king size bunk beds! How cool is that?

At the top we had lunch in this beautiful building that had an incredible view overlooking the valley!


 We went on hikes around Moose Hallow and saw deer just yards away from us.  Too bad I didn't get a picture of that!


It was a weekend filled with fun and adventures!

I discovered a few amazing TIPS to make the perfect chocolate chip cookies. Here it goes - room temperature eggs, room temperature SALTED butter, sift the dry ingredients, under cook the cookies a little, and let them cool on the pan. Combine these tips with your favorite chocolate chip cookies or use my recipes below...




Soft Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 stick of Salted Room Temperature Butter (8 TBS)
1/2 C Sugar
1/4 C Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla with a few extra splashes
1 Room Temperature Egg
1 1/2 C Flour
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 C Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Set the butter and egg on the counter and allow for them to reach room temperature.


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Blend together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.


Add the dry ingredients to the wet and blend together. Add chocolate chips and mix. Form the dough into 9 large balls.


Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until the cookies look dry, risen, and ever so slightly golden. To insure ultimate softness, do not over cook these cookies. Allow them to cool on the pan for 20 minutes or so. Enjoy! Don't forget to share this recipe with a friend!

Looking at the chair before, we decided to change a couple things. First, we didn't redo the tufted buttons to keep it simple. Second, we totally ditched the top cushion, thus saving time and money while keeping the project as simple as possible. 
All pieces of furniture are different, so my advice when refinishing pieces with upholstery is to just start pulling the fabric off. When you do this, it becomes clear how the piece was put together in the first place and you can just recover it the way it was originally. You can see the hidden staples and the glue and the seems. If you don't trust your memory, just take pictures as you go so you remember how the piece goes back together.

Once the piece was stripped, we lightly sanded it, including the wicker. Be gentle with it.

Prime and paint.

We bought foam padding at Joan's and cut it into the shape we needed. We covered the foam with new fabric.
